BASICS OF VIDEO EDITING ON A SMART PHONE

DIGITAL COMMERCE

DestaNation Tech is an employability and entrepreneurship program at DESTA which aims to address and help participants overcome employment barriers faced by English-speaking Black youth in Montreal. The program includes skills training workshops, job placement services, entrepreneurial support, networking events and more.

Skills training and mentorship

Participants will receive skills training and mentorship in one or more of four key areas: web development, graphic design, digital marketing and business development. Upon completion of each training, successful participants will have the opportunity to work on contracts procured by DESTA through an internship with our in-house DestaNation Creative Agency. In this way, participants can gain real experience, build their portfolio and earn money with the possibility to grow, evolve and build a career with the agency. Participants who successfully complete the program will also have access to entry-level jobs in the Tech field and through DESTA’s employability program will receive support in Job search, CV and interview prep.

THE WORKSHOPS

Basics Of Video Editing On A Smartphone

Almost everyone has a smartphone. Whether you are a beginner or someone with a basic understanding of videos, you can learn to edit videos. In this course students will learn the principles of good video editing using the free mobile app called Capcut.

Digital Commerce

Taking this course will help you get started in the wild world of Direct To Consumer (DTC), you will learn the skills and tools needed to start, launch and grow a business in today’s digital age. While many courses focus on e-commerce exclusively, we will also explore in-person selling, experiential marketing, social selling, and all the other channels that make up an omnichannel business.

    • Dates: Beginning November 16 to December 7th.
    • Day of the week: Every Wednesday for 4 weeks.
    • Time: 6-8 pm
